Mutton
On my way from the Cant. station back to Yelahanka I see hoards and hoards of sheep all lined up. And sheep-keepers, wrapped in woolen shawls (a thought here diverges to that chapter on animal husbandry that we had in school - about using all parts of the animal, etc.), are waiting for people to come and buy them off - last chance for the big sacrifice tomorrow. There must be close to 500 sheep on that one stretch of road near JC Nagar. I'm wondering, what do they do if they have leftover sheep? Take them back and bring them again next year? Cut them up anyway? It's Bakrid tomorrow. Whether or not you're buying into the story of Ibrahim, mutton's going to be expensive.
